Life isn’t personal.

Most of the time, what we perceive as a personal attack isn’t.

I recently deleted all my old social media accounts and ended up without email for over two weeks.

Someone took this personally, believing I did it to avoid her, which couldn't be further from the truth. She was angry, hurt, and in full attack mode.

Let’s break it down.

For well over a year, I toyed with what to do about my social media. My old profiles didn’t fit me anymore, but I had a following. Should I keep them? Would deleting them mess with the algorithm? How should I handle this? I let it be for months, undecided. I knew it didn’t feel right anymore.

A week ago, I received a strong message from the universe: it was time to delete it all. Forget the algorithm, forget the following—burn it all to the ground and start over.

In the meantime, the old domain I used for email expired, allowing me to officially change the email over. Only… there was an issue, and it has taken me several weeks working with Google to figure it out.

When this person accused me of changing social media profiles just to ignore her, I thought, "How silly… changing profiles is a big job—you aren’t that important." You never crossed my mind in this endeavor. If it was about you, I would have blocked you.

We cannot make people see what’s in our hearts or our truest intentions. Those are things only we know. We need to get comfortable with the fact that some people will dispute the truth regardless. It is not our job to prove them wrong or make them believe our truth. It is our job to protect our energy and keep going.
